I purchased this set for a Mexico vacation. I don't normally wear anklets, but purchased this for fun. I tried it out for the day before we left, and it kept slipping down to my foot. I tried tying/wrapping the strings, wearing a tighter/thicker anklet under it, and nothing would keep it tight. Fortunately, my daughter makes jewelry, and she was able to snip here and there and add a lobster clasp. It worked great. I wore it for a solid 10 days, in the shower, pool, beach, etc..A couple of the shells did have some discoloration/tarnishing, but that would be expected with the quality of this item exposed to the elements. I wore the necklace a few times, and did not notice it loosening or the metal turning. I don't wear this style everyday, but it was fun for a beach vacation. The silver, gold and rose gold metal shells are very pretty and unique!
