Meditation: A Beginner's Guide to Start Meditating Now Audio CD – CD, August 28, 2010

I think this meditation CD is excellent because Shinzen explains this subject in a slow, clear and consise manner which is easy to understand. Even after the first time listening to this, I felt like meditation was something tangible that I could accomplish. I think this CD is perfect for anyone that is beginning to practice, has started and stopped many times ( such as myself ) and/or wants clear, basic information and guidelines to just keep it simple. I've not been a fan of guided meditations, however I thoroughly enjoy the guided meditation at the end and plan to order some more of Shinzen YOung's materials.

Shinzen's unique approach to meditation is fascinating. He has analyzed and synthesized all of the major meditative traditions into a clear and obviously beneficial art. Original and inspiring.

Shinzen Young's instructions, language, style, and voice tone are crisp, clear, reassuring and peaceful. This is great for beginner's and for long-time meditators as a short refresher from Shinzen's insightful perspective.

Like most of this type product, it contains some very good information, but the first half of the recording is pure puff, telling why you will love this and why it will work for you. Better to get into the subject and let the user decide if they love it, and if it works for them. It's like someone sending you a joke and starting by telling you that you're really going to find this funny. It has a negative impact.

Good but I have listened to better cds. Would still recommend this to anyone is a beginner or wants to start.

Not what I was looking for. Explanation took up most of the CD. The meditation part was too short.
