These are the first 8 half-hour lessons of a 30 lesson course. If you want to take it further then you need to contact the company to buy the full course. This is not made entirely clear on the product information. If you go through these 8 lessons and can stand the boring repetition of VERY basic phrases that don't get much beyond 'Are you/I am an American/Israeli', 'I speak/understand a little/no Hebrew', 'Where is Rabin Square?' etc then you will have picked up, well, a few very basic phrases. But you'll arrive in Israel not able to read a single sign or newspaper headline. The theory is that it is possible to learn a language simply by listening and repeating without written exercises or grammar. This may work for some people but doesn't for me - I need to see things written down to remember them. Also if you're serious about getting basic Hebrew then you really need to learn the alphabet, though obviously this can be done in addition to this course. There are lots of Hebrew learning resources available - online and texts and I'd look at some of these rather than this set of CDs.

This is the starter course in Hebrew by the Pimsleur method. This depends entirely on listening and repeating. There is no written material and no formal grammar. Learning creeps up on you and you gradually expand your vocabulary. I think the accent you gain must be fair as well. I did speak a very little Hebrew when I started and I notice that I'm saying words differently now. This is a convenient and well structured method. I've moved on to the next set of lessons
