Good for a homelab or a quiet desktop PC
I'm pleased with this. It seems like an outstanding product to me. It has some limitations and quirks, but its simple BIOS and integrated CPU saved me assembly time. Tip: If you're installing a wi-fi adapter, the two screws come up from the bottom of the motherboard into the mounting bracket. Tip: If you're installing Linux, boot the first time without any storage attached and turn off Secure Boot/TPM.

Great value Ryzen 9 Mobile Chip on an ITX motherboard combo
Great motherboard and CPU combo, also comes with wi-fi on this one. Thankfully I got a working unit, and it works great so far and performs like a champ on efficiency front. It must be noted that this uses mobile chip, so you can't upgrade the CPU and you also need laptop SODIMM RAM. Fit and finish is not perfect but acceptable on mine, there's only one finstack on the heatsink that doesn't align well. This was quite the problem on earlier batch but it seems they've improved on that front. They've also finally added BIOS v1.09 that enables overclocking option which could be helpful for those who want to undervolt and using a faster RAM speed.Tbf on the listing I had no idea what even is upgraded on this unit, it looks and perform like a standard 7945HX on this unit. There might be multiple BD790i listings, so just pick whichever listing gives you the best price. Also be informed that there will be another "BD790i SE" version which has lower price but uses a 7940HX instead (alongside the downgrade from m.2 gen 5 for storage to gen 4 on that unit). That one is different from this one, but if the price difference is big, picking that instead could be a better option if you wish to save some bucks. That said I'd only recommend building around this unit only if you're fine going with a growing brand like minisforum (which may lack localized support on your place, you can still email them though and they will answer in the next business day) and knows a bit about how to tinker with PC.

Issues with mouse and keyboard
Do not buy this, having mouse and keyboard issues after using it for 2 months, this problem is because of integrated graphics and cannot be resolved unless you buy external graphics for output

nice combo
Works well.New bios v1.9 even allows overclocking and undervolting. While out of the box ram speed was incorrectly detected (5200 instead of 5600), new bios allows mem speed manual adjustments and it works.Set your own tdp, undervolting - offset, max temp limit (original cooling solution has its limits and is not replaceable) and you get cool yet clocking more than original spec cpu.Only complaint - lacks conventional sata, needed to use nvme to sata asmedia solution that is also bootable (m2 pcie to sata expansion card ASM1166) !

Excellent combination motherboard, if some knowledge required to get the best performance
Great 16 core CPU built into the motherboard, excellent power efficiency.Bios requires some serious fiddling to get ram to rated speeds, however with the latest BIOS all required settings are there (even if you have to use a hexadecimal to decimal calculator to set memory timings, lol). For a tech enthusiast this is a great board! For a novice, I’m not so convinced.Did manage to get DDR5-6000mhz cl38-38-38 running after some tweaking of settings, so the board itself is up to par with b650/x670 for that.

Love this mobo.. non-upgradable CPU preinstalled.. newer version available now
Loving this and will likely go with the new BD790 AI version or one of their mini computers like the MS-A2 for next build. I was warned about using one of the NVME slots for a SATA expansion card but did it anyway to turn this mobo into a NAS with 4 hard drives in a 2x2 full mirror in Truenas scale eletriceel (and now the next version.. forget its name).

Missing parts? or False advertising?
Watch out for false advertising! Minisforum sells a couple different versions of this MB. Several promotional images for THIS listing show it to be the version WITH an included cooler for the M.2 slots (which is ideal on a compact build, you know it won't interfere with main cooling fan)The item shipped does NOT include the cooler. While I'm sure I can find some a small heat sink that will fit, which probably won't be terribly expensive ... that's still an additional cost and additional shipping time, when I was mis-led to believe the part was included.

Pretty okay
The board is nice and I love the complete package. I dropped 96GB of memory into this and it worked fine. The BIOS is my main issues, it is super unintuitive and there are certain things you cannot do. Turning off secure boot is painful and again unintuitive (you have to have all the drives disconnected to turn it off). It also runs a bit hotter than I expected for a mobile chip. It works for my NAS application, but I would probably build my own next time.
