Laminitic horse approved!
Day 1 Review 1/17/19Well, it's been 5 days since the diagnosis of acute laminitis and I finally got the boots even though I paid for expedited shipping. Even counting the weekend in there, that's slow. They should really put these boots on Prime because nobody WANTS to buy this product. They NEED to buy this product and they need it NOW! Anyway...So I get the boots. They are well packed in pretty packaging. There is an instructional brochure that comes with them. Even without the brochure, they are easy to figure out. I did watch the video on their website about the boots before I bought them and that showed how to put them on.Then I put them on. After I got the first boot on, my horse shifted his weight to the boot and started licking his lips. He then cocked a back hoof!! Now keep in mind this is a horse with acute laminitis! He had been trying to put all of his weight on his hind legs for days at this point so to see him cock a back leg was instant satisfaction for me! I got the other boot on and evaluated the fit. They fit well around his hoof-not a lot of wiggle room. I did not size up-I went by the size chart. They do gap at the top though. Maybe it's because they are new or maybe it's just because of the strong type of material they are made from. I worried that he would get shavings down inside them so I stuffed paper towels in to fill the gaps. I think that should do the trick. Maybe I'll make little bell boot type things out of fabric to go over the top of the EasyBoot to keep the shavings out. I'll see how the paper towels hold up.So far, so good. He was a little hesitant to take a step in them but he shouldn't be walking around too much anyway. Not sure I'll turn him out in them but he's too lame right now. I have owned horses for decades and I still have the original EasyBoot with the wires and metal closure. Things sure have come a long way! The velcro on these was really easy to use and seemed pretty secure. I don't think he'll be able to get these boots off.I'm happy with my purchase. I was going to buy another brand but they couldn't be here for another two days. I think I would have been happy with that brand too. My horse just needed some kind of relief and he found it with these boots. I can definitely see that these boots would be versatile for treating abscesses and other hoof problems. The integrated air holes in the hoof portion are a huge improvement over my other treatment boots that are all a rubber/plastic material. The only downside is that you would need to purchase a pair and they are pricey. But they do seem sturdy so hopefully they will last a while. I have already purchased replacement inserts because I'm not sure how long they will last.I'll provide updates. Stay tuned and wish poor Snickers the best!

Very Pleased. Very Easy.
They arrived yesterday and I put them on my Ol Man right away. Very easy to put on. It took him a couple of hours to feel comfy. At first he didn’t want to move. Buddy suffers from arthritis and had neglected hooves. He has had white line and lately was blowing abscesses through his coronary band. He was a neglect case that came to me and was rehabbed then placed in a home that wasn’t aware of the challenge his feet would be. When I got him back two months ago he was much worse again. I thought the most compassionate approach to getting his feet back into shape would be these boots and I see so many good signs right away. His face is not so pained. His movement went from choppy to fluid. He went back to his happy self in a matter of hours. While our other therapies take their time to benefit him the Easy Boot Clouds on his front feet give him immediate comfort and relief. The one thing I am concerned with and the reason this is not a 5 star review is that I’m a bit worried about air circulation. I’m not sure the vents are enough to provide air flow and avoid bacterial issues but I’m willing to remove and clean his feet and let them air out daily. They are that easy to put on. If I see the vents are enough I will update this to a 5 star review because that is really the only issue I see. Overall Buddy and I are very happy and we are not so anxious about the recovery period when he can be comfortable. I was worried about ordering boots but all of that was unnecessary.

Order up a size
This is a thoughtfully designed boot for horses recovering from laminitis, founder, abscesses, etc. My big gripe is that the size chart doesn't correspond well to the actual boot size. Measured my mare's front hooves extremely carefully several times, immediately after a trim, and had those measurements checked by a friend. Those measurements put her smack in the middle of a size 3, according to Easyboot's chart. I felt confident that the boot would fit and that there was enough room to accommodate normal growth between trims, but nevertheless ordered only one, just to be sure. Much to my disappointment, the boot was significantly too small. Have ordered the next size up, paid for faster shipping and am now waiting for that to come. I'm sure these boots would make her much more comfortable on her hurting hooves... It is frustrating to have unnecessary delays, just because no one seems to be checking that the boot size actually matches the size chart.Since we have not had the opportunity to use the boots, I can't speak to durability, I like that replacement pads are readily available, and I love that the boots are actually easy to put on and take off (if they fit, that is).

Great boot highly recommend for abscesses
Very happy to have found this boot. I used as a turn out boot for mare with bad abscess across front of her left toe. She just churns up a stall if left locked in and she stocks up. Once abscess opened up by our vet, syringed in medication, wrapped with diaper, and then put in boot. It worked like a charm to draw out the abscess and reduce pressure. Four days she was less ouchie and I could remove the boot. I bought a size 2 since she is a QH with smaller feet. Perfect fit. Also the insert plastic cushion was used after I quit wrapping foot. She was so much more confortable. If a horse could smile she did. :) I had tried the lighter Easyboot but it is only good for soaking not walking or turn out.

Priceless Relief
After months of following all the protocols (trims, meds, supplements) for Laminitis, these boots brought INSTANT relief for our pony with Laminitis. Took her about 20 minutes to get used to them. (She tried to pull the velcro tabs, so I wrapped top of boots with Vet Wrap to limit her access.)I let her out and for the first time in many months, she was able to walk, trot and buck joyously! These are not cheap, but for the relief and joy they brought to our girl, they are priceless!
