Great kit!
I often cut hair for my friends/family for free. After a while, it was obvious I would need clippers for men's hair. I have also started shaving some of my hair, and this is great for that. Definitely worth the price for home use. I love all of the different attachments, the little brush, the combs, and instructions. I don't care for the scissors because I have better ones, but it's nice that it comes with some for those just starting off.The clippers are surprisingly quiet. I am able to use them to trim up the fur between my dog's toes to avoid her bringing in dirt. She's easily spooked, so the fact that she puts up with these clippers without hassle is pretty amazing.Again, I would highly recommend this!!! For humans or animals ;)

SHUCK THE TUBE and man the face pit..
Great - can't knock it at all at the price - and this one came tuned up and ready to cut. Oh - and the semi-hard (flexible) case is really fabulous - it can swell a bit like the zippered cases, but is made of plastic and only has a single latch (no damn zipper.)What else - I do wish they had color coded the spacer-combs - but I took the one or two things to keep out and stuck the rest in a zippy. YMMV.OH - I SHOULD KNOCK OFF ONE POINT FOR INCLUDING ANOTHER LEAKY BOTTLE OF OIL. You have to store that right-side up once you open it - there is no way to do that unless you tape it to the side of something. THROW IT OUT and buy a decent can of sewing machine oil. (Almost anything works, but straight mineral oil - AKA baby oil - is obviously going to be better on my face, trimming my Uncle Sam.

good for cutting children's hair
I just got this kit to cut my almost 2-year-old son's hair. For the price, if I use it twice it has more than paid for itself v. going to the children's hair salon (my husband's barber won't do children's hair). I've only used it once but the one I got is really quiet and doesn't seem to pull at all. The cord is a pretty decent length as well. My son doesn't mind me using it on him, I let him pretend to play Daddy's X-Box while I'm doing it to get him to be kind of still. There is a printed guide with photos that shows you how to cut hair. I need practice, but at least right now all of his little friends don't talk enough yet to be able to make fun of him! They seem to be of good quality and I think once I get the hang of cutting hair they will work very well.

Quite A Necessary Purchase
Okay, so I've never cut anyone's hair other than my own before. Now I'm living with my Military husband who has to go for haircuts every other week that costs him a fraction of his paycheck. Hey, even a fraction is money, right? So I decided, why not do it myself for him? No more drives to the barbershop miles away for him, no more waiting in the chair til he gets done for me.The Wahl Clipper is the first one I've ever owned and it's so easy to use! I barely even watched the video, picked it up and was ready to go. Instructions on paper were easy to follow (even if you don't have a degree in engineering!) but I was afraid I might mess up or pull his hairs. He said it didn't hurt a bit, and I went slow and took my time. This machine has saved us money and we've all in all made back the amount of money spent on the Clipper. Definite bargain! The clippers have to be oiled each time after use and that's not a big deal, the hairs on the clippers are easy to clean off with the brush that comes with the set, and the box is very chiq black. I love the package entirely both for the presentation AND usefulness. It's not heavy and bulky at all, my small hands make it easier to handle rather than the opposite. My only qualm with it is that it heats up after awhile and gets uncomfortable, but that is probably because I took so long cutting his hair. After awhile, I got better at it and it took less long, and there was no problem at all with the heating. Great buy, great bargain!

Three Stars
It's okay for the price, nothing spectacular.

Easy, Cheap Haircuts with Great Clipper and Handy Video!
After watching the video demonstrations a few times, I easily cut my husband's hair and it turned out great--just like from the barber shop (well, almost--with practice, it will look even better). The clipper is great quality, is easy to use, and works very well. The scissors and guide combs, etc., that came with it were good quality, too, and very useful. The video, though a bit dated, gives instructions for some very basic, classic haircuts for men that are not difficult to do. We figure this clipper will pay for itself with 2 haircuts then we'll be saving money each month by using this great product. Highly recommended--and a good new hobby to take up!

Does the job well
A rather heavy clipper with a strong buzz, but easy to use and does a very good job. The teeth are easy to oil, adjustable, and very sharp. The accessories all clip on firmly and work well. This clipper looks just like the one my barber uses. Fits my palm nicely. Well worth the money.

Choose a different/better clipper...
I guess I was spoiled by the Wahl clippers I had owned for more than 20 years...the only reason I purchased a new one is because my old one was just getting too loud to use for any length of time...But I can't express strongly enough how disappointed I was with these clippers...I found it completely difficult to believe that the company that made the clippers I was replacing with the product that I now had...and frankly, I can only discount this particular clipper...I'm sure Wahl has something worth buying...but this one is not it!I think one of the things that really bothered me is that Wahl makes too many different models...I just needed a clipper that I could use for trimming and shaping my goatee...reading the product descriptions, it seems I actually needed to buy two separate clipper sets to do two separate tasks...the clipper I needed to replace allowed me to do both...so I picked one that I though may have comparable to the one I owned...it wasn't...not by a long shot. Heck, this clipper wouldn't even cut the hairs on the back of my neck...I was really put off by this product.
